Our Membership Selection Process ensures that we are selecting the best-qualified men who exemplify the tenets of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift. The fraternity’s founders chose these tenets and each candidate must exhibit the qualities of the Fraternity’s Four Cardinal Principles. Our fraternity’s motto is “Friendship is essential to the soul” and the selection process is centered on an international uniform system of bringing forward new member with ideals of true friendship. Since the birth of the organization, Omega has and will continue to impact the world in every profession and all walks of life.
Just as our Founders selected each other and each member thereafter, we are rigorous in ensuring we are bringing members in the fraternity who already possess the qualities of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. The requirements listed below are training for what responsibility is as an active Omega; its purpose is to help develop your unselfish interest in participation in a program of fellowship and brotherhood.
Since the fraternity's founding in 1911, the fraternity has grown to offer scholarships, leadership conferences, and an international high school writing essay contest to name a few of our programs. These programs are made possible because excellent Omega Men gave their time, talent, and treasure to the fraternity. Just as the fraternity has been built for you, we expect members to do their part and continue to build the bridge for those to come.
The Fraternity has been built for men seeking excellence to attain just that. We expect members to continue these programs and pay it forward to build the bridge for those to come.
In addition to the fees noted above, candidates can expect to be assessed for chapter dues and for district dues.
Candidates should discuss these costs with their sponsor and with chapter officers.
Beginning with the 2020-2021 academic school year, all candidates under the age of 21 will need to involve their parent or guardian in the Membership Selection Process and sign off on various documents. For candidates under the age of 21 who have been legally emancipated, please contact the Membership Selection Process (MSP) Chair for the chapter for which you are seeking candidacy.
